2017 June Difference Maker is:
Laura Mulligan

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Laura Mulligan. Mulligan is the Information Services Librarian at Bracken Libraries at Ball State University. She creates custom research workshops for many students and programs at the University. Using her skills to decide which databases to use for a specific project, Mulligan is able to really benefit those students in her workshops. She’s also always available for 1 on 1 help when needed and has become a very important resource herself when it comes to higher learning.

2017 May Difference Maker is:
Donna Carlos Williams

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Donna Carloss Williams. Williams is an Instructor of Elementary Education at Ball State University. She is retiring this Spring after many years of tireless work and extreme love, care and support of the many students, both young and old, that she has researched and taught the importance of educating young children. Her respect for others is phenomenal and lends her to becoming a forever friend with anyone she meets.

2017 April Difference Maker is:
Max Norris

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Max Norris. Norris is the Women’s Tennis coach at Ball State University and was named the Coach of the Year at the 3rd annual student-athlete awards show, The Chirpies, held at Emens Auditorium, for his contribution in leading the team to the 2016 MAC championship and their first-ever appearance in the NCAA championships. Norris joined the team 4 years ago and regularly leads the team to greater and greater achievements both on and off the tennis court.

2017 March Difference Makers are:
Josh Sims (left) and Nate Robert-Eze (right)

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Makers of the Month, Josh Sims and Nate Robert-Eze. Sims and Robert-Eze are students in the Urban Planning program at Ball State and their mutual love for design drove them into business together, creating a brand called 2eze. Sims and Robert-Eze sell their brand online and in the Atrium to fellow Ball State Students. 2eze was created to promote unity as it’s not geared toward one nationality or race and to give back to the community by creating opportunities for Sims and Robert-Eze to talk to area groups about entrepreneurship.

2017 February Difference Maker is:
Paige Waters

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Paige Waters. Waters is an Instructor of Telecommunications at Ball State as well as an advisor for many students in the Telecommunications major. She always goes above and beyond to help her students connect to the business world by bringing in speakers from fields they would like to pursue after college. Waters also keeps close relationships with community partners to bring real-world opportunities into the classroom.

2017 January Difference Maker is:
Scott Pattison

The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Scott Pattison. Pattison is a Professor at Ball State in the Department of Chemistry who received the 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award at Ball State’s Fall Faculty Convocation. Teaching a complicated subject such as Biochemistry, Pattison continually receives many praises from his students who find his simple approach, personable demeanor, and engaging stories very helpful in mastering the subject.

2016 December Difference Maker is:
Darolyn Jones
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Darolyn Jones. After winning the Excellence in Teaching Award, Jones was able to redesign a course of her choice, so she developed Rethinking Children’s and Young Adult Literature. This course provides a more direct focus on social and educational justice, while providing students with an immersive learning experience.

2016 November Difference Maker is:
Janie Fulling
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Janie Fulling. Fulling is a senior at Ball State who took the initiative to create her own major in digital storytelling and cultural narratives. Through the Medallion Scholars program and the Honors College, Fulling is really making the most of every opportunity at school while blazing her own path along the way. Congratulations to Janie Fulling, the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month!

2016 October Difference Maker is:
Ross Walter
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Ross Walter, who has spent 27 years at Ball State as the Superintendent of Building Maintenance and will be retiring this November 1. Ross has spent his time at Ball State helping administrators, faculty, staff, service employees and students while working on various projects and maintenance. He has made a positive difference around campus and has been an asset to the Ball State community during his time. Congratulations to Ross Walter, the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month!
2016 September Difference Maker is:
Clifton Snorton
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Clifton Snorten, a two-time graduate student at Ball State University. Snorten was recently named the President of the National Black Graduate Student Association, a group he participated in as he pursued not one but TWO graduate degrees. A key benefit of an NBGSA membership is the support system it created for Snorten and other black grad students, whose membership allows them to network with peers across the country. Snorten credits his success to the relationships he has cultivated during his academic pursuit. Congratulations to Clifton Snorton, the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month!

Lisa Rubenstein
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Lisa Rubenstein, an assistant professor of educational psychology at Ball State University. Rubenstein originally wanted to be a doctor, but she also wanted the personal ties that being a doctor couldn’t provide. But in her Development of Creative Thinking class, she and students discuss what creativity is, how you develop it and, for teachers, how you teach and evaluate it. Rubenstein has finally found the personal connection she so desired. Her ability to combine her passions and focus on connections brought her Ball State’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Award!

Megan McNames (pictured on the left)
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Megan McNames, an instructor of journalism at Ball State University. McNames has taken it upon herself to revamp all of the public relations classes she teaches from their original old school format to a more holistic and independent approach. This teaching method has not only been successful for the classroom, but has been utilized by her students to guide them into success in their careers. Congratulations to Megan McNames, the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month!
2016 June Difference Maker is:
Jennifer Blackmer
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Jennifer Blackmer, an associate professor of theater and associate provost for entrepreneurial learning at Ball State. Blackmer, a recent recipient of the $75,000 Tribeca Film Institute-Sloan Filmmaker grant, is realizing her dream of being a filmmaker by using her grant to explore making her screenplay, “Human Terrain” into a feature film.

Lynne Stallings
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Lynne Stallings, an associate professor of English at Ball State. Stallings works closely with the Muncie Community Schools’ English as a Second Language program to offer those classes to parents and caregivers of the students taking the ESL classes as a way to get them involved with their child’s schooling.
 
2016 April Difference Maker is:
Conner Edwards
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Conner Edwards, a senior in Special Education for Intense Interventions at Ball State. Edwards has been named the Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year by the National Council for Exceptional Children for his volunteering, student teaching and exceptional leadership.
2016 March Difference Maker is:
Samantha Hunt
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Samantha Hunt, a senior Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising dual major at Ball State. Samantha started her own clothing business, Knots for a Kause, to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children.
2016 February Difference Maker is:
Kristen McCauliff
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, Kristen McCauliff. McCauliff credits her hard work and mentors as being the reason she recently received Ball State’s 2015 Outstanding Teacher Award for her student-centered approach to teaching. McCauliff leads some of her department’s toughest classes and continues to see positive responses from both the faculty and her students.
2015 December Difference Maker is:
Drew Vidal and Michael Elliot
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Drew Vidal and Michael Elliot. Vidal and Elliot worked with students from the theatre and dance departments to blend original movement and music into a new "Frankenstein." Their project won Ball State's 2015 Outstanding Creative Endeavor Award. In the future, they hope to scale down the production so that it will appeal to theater festivals or even take it to a professional theater..
2015 November Difference Maker is:
Dan Boylan
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Dan Boylan. Professor Boylan teaches over 1000 students a semester in Personal Finance at Ball State. Under his leadership, the school has won "best in the nation" for students committing to save for the last 3 years. Boylan is no stranger to winning awards as he is the "teacher of the Year" for Miller College.
2015 October Difference Maker is:
Carolyn Dowling
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Carolyn Dowling. Carolyn is an associate professor of geology who recently spent 90 days enduring powerful winds, frigid temperatures and sensory deprivation in Antarctica so she could study virtually untouched rocks and sediment.
2015 September Difference Maker is:
Edie Fisher
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Edie Fisher. Edie works 30 hours a week managing the Muncie Delaware Senior Center thrift store, serves on the board of directors, helps with all of the fund-raisers and special events, and directs the annual style show. The most amazing part is Edie will soon be 96 years old.
2015 August Difference Maker is:
Lee Florea
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Lee Florea, an assistant professor of geology at Ball State. Florea physically trained to prepare him for the high altitudes of Mount Rainier in Washington state as part of a research team that will study life in glacial caves at the top of the volcano.
2015 July Difference Maker is:
Sarah Ashcraft
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Sarah Ashcraft, a psycology student at Ball State University. Ashcraft received a chance to meet Katie Couric after winning a scholarship seeded by the journalist herself.
2015 June Difference Maker is:
Ronald Kaitchuck
The Ball State Difference Maker of the Month is Ronald Kaitchuck, director of the new Charles W. Brown Planetarium at Ball State. Kaitchuck and his team have developed several free planetarium programs open to the public during the summer. Congratulations to the Ball State Difference Maker of the month.
2015 May Difference Maker is:
Paul Gestwicki
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Paul Gestwicki. Gestwicki led his students in creating a space themed video game for children. The game is designed to teach math and science in the setting of the international space station.
2015 April Difference Maker is:
Timothy Berg
The Ball State Federal Credit Union salutes the Ball State Difference Maker of the Month, Timothy Berg, an Honors Humanities professor at Ball State.  Berg has been leading his students in an immersive learning class focused on building a new mobile app for the David Owsley Museum of Art. The app features interactive prompts in order to engage museum goers, instead of the typical audio tour.
